Vodafone India Announces 4G Services In India Beginning with Kochi

Vodafone India arrived with 4G services, beginning with Kochi, as it seems to take on market leader Bharti Airtel and the new launches by Reliance Jio Infocomm. Vodafone India which has second largest subscribers in India has launched 4G in the in Trivandrum and Calicut of the country. Whereas, we can estimate to launch 4G in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata by March next year.

According to the reports, Vodafone India after launching of 4G services earlier in Kochi, it is going to launch 4G services in as many as 10 cities in Kerala. A statement from the Vodafone India has announced – “Users will be able to access Vodafone’s 4G services from their 4G enabled smartphones. Consumers will be offered a 4G SIM along with a free upgrade to 4G.”

4G services are been testing in these locations and Vodafone has associated with top global technology service providers for the network. During the process of network expansion in Kerala for 3G and 4G services Vodafone has invested Rs 700 crore in the last 18 months.

The base price released by Vodafone India for 4G data package is just Rs. 29 Which will offer 120 MB 4g and the largest pack is at Rs. 2499 that offers as much as 20GB monthly data. It also specified that 4G RED consumers of Vodafone India will get 100% additional data for the first three months of subscription.

Vodafone stated it has created a mark that the first telecom operator in Kerala to offer 2G, 3G and 4G services on its private network. Vodafone India also launched the 4G device that will allow Wi-Fi signal to other devices.

Vodafone India has stated this way – “Vodafone 4G customers will be able to access the Internet via mobile with great speeds through a range of smart devices with mobile wi-fi on this state of the art network. Vodafone will slowly launch its services to central metros – Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata in the main phase. Testing of 4G services in these locations has been started successfully.”
