In spite of settling the Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold men’s trophy, India’s K Srikanth stayed static at World No. 9 whereas P V Sindhu fell a place to be No. 12 in the most recent BWF positions released today.
The holding on to Saina Nehwal took World No. 2 position in women’s singles’ ranking list in spite of missing the Lucknow match, where she was the defending champion.
Second place in men’s doubles event at Syed Modi, Indian duo of Pranaav Jerry Chopra and Akshay Dewalkar upgraded two positions to be at World No. 34, while Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy, who failed in the initial round at Lucknow, two places which are slipped to be at No. 20 position.
Loss in quarterfinal at Syed Modi event also had a hostile impact on P Kashyap as he dropped to World No. 15, whereas H S Prannoy dropped seven places to be at 27th spot. Ajay Jayaram was static at No. 25.
Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa, both touched the quarterfinals last week, upgraded a place to be ranked 13th.
