Today in lower Manhattan in New York City, an under construction large crane has collapsed down on road which killed one person and severely injured two persons.
The New York Fire Department arrived to the accident location and confirmed the death.
The accident happened beside West Broadway today morning in the Tribeca neighbourhood.
The crane collapsed onto many cars which are parked in the street. Due to high winds in street the crane downed on a parked vehicle in which a person was sitting at the time of the accident, and that said New York City Mayor Bill de blasi.
While the incident happened Workers were in the process of dropping the crane due to the high winds when it collapsed. However no workers were injured.
Eyewitness Robert Harold said to the AP news agency. “It was a crashing sound. You could feel the vibration in the building. I looked out the window and saw it lying in the street.”
As the crane fell down Mr Harold saw somebody stuck in a car and someone fell down in the street, said.
When the accident happened the crane was changing air conditioning equipment in current building, the first for New York City since 2008.
“This is a very miserable incident, we lost a life,” Mr De Blasio said. “If you go there and check out what happened, thank God it was not me.”
In New York City all cranes have been ordered to be dropped after the incident.
The height of the crane was 500ft (152m), authorities said.
The morning weather in New York City was windy with snow falling.
Due to this incident public transportation is delayed and subway trains are bypassing the area.
