Companies Of Telecom Focus On Enterprise Business For Growth
The information technology boom looks to be powerful into all segments and many companies — whether big or small — are assuming several clarifications like big data, internet and mobile solutions.
Keeping pace with the rising trend, several telecom services are proposing special business prospects to small and medium companies so as to adopt these facilities without a glitch.
The telecom services market is prized at about Rs 2, 00,000 crore and the enterprise segment share is 10 per cent or Rs 20,000 crore.
In the meantime, the SME enterprise section is rising among 10-12 percent and to tap into this section many Telco’s are offering facilities like location based services, data protection, separate lines for transferring data, mobile apps for marketing people, cloud-based services and are allotting specific budgets for the same.
Companies like BSNL, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Tata Teleservices are gaining a lot from the enterprise segment. While PSU BSNL is planning to increase its market share by 20 per cent, RCom is focusing on cloud services and nearly 15 per cent of Vodafone’s income comes from enterprise segment.
According to Tata Teleservices senior vice president and head, B2B operations, Harjit Singh Chauhan, “TTSL SME business is growing double in comparison to industry year-on-year and its contribution to overall revenue is about 30 per cent. Disruptive technological forces such as social, mobility, cloud etc are playing a ubiquitous role in redefining business capabilities and thought leadership. We have moved beyond providing just traditional voice and data services to enterprise customers.
The company now provides solutions across ICT, IoT, cloud and mobile applications domain, among others. Going ahead, we see that companies will be using digital technologies across various aspects of their organisations.”
